Not approved. There are statements throughout this sermon that can be misunderstood or considered false or at least in poor taste for Christian television. At 5:35 minutes, a statement is made that says, “We have all seen the terrible results of people who were born with too much money, never had to hold down an honest living. And how their morals are corrupted and how they have a corrupting influence on others.” Where in the Bible does it say how much money is “too much”? Many of those people have gifted us with museums, libraries, and habitat reserves. They have built and supplied institutes to search for cures for cancer and many other diseases and ailments. They have gifted our world with tens of thousands of churches, hospitals, medical clinics, nursing homes, orphanages, schools for the blind, and so forth. In addition, how can the Pastor judge that because they have money, their living was dishonest? Because they were born with money, the Pastor says, “…their morals are corrupted... .” Does this mean that people without money do not have their morals corrupted? Being born with money does not corrupt. The love of money corrupts, error occurs when money is coveted. “1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith….” At 12:05 the Pastor says, “How do you know if you have the gift of giving? If you have a regular income.” If this principle were true, then God would be incapable of giving the gift of a giving heart to any one without a steady income. That would include most of the retired people in third world nations, street people, et cetera. If having a regular income indicates that, you have the gift of giving, then why do some with incomes not give? At 21:20 the statement is made that, “I’m really offended when I see these Christian Artists cross over to secular. I feel so bad for them spiritually; they have prostituted themselves as far as I can see. It hurts me a lot when I see some great Christian leader turn over and become a consultant for business and for mere profit. What has he done with the talent God has given him?” Many people have crossed over, become wealthy, and served God more fully when there were needs too big for the churches to afford. These crossovers have baled out many of our institutions in time of need: Academies, Colleges, Hospitals, et cetera. These individuals and other viewers will find the statement, “they have prostituted themselves…” to be harsh, judgmental and offensive. At 26:14 the program jumps back to 17:05 and repeats its self up to 35:30 where it continues with fresh material.
