Comments: This program talks about mental health and depression. The guest gives Biblical and practical advise on how to maintain mental health. APPROVED with some concerns. Concerns: 1. In his presentation the guest identifies several symptoms of a person suffering depression. As he presents these he tends to be a bit too categorical almost sounding like a doctor who is diagnosing. If someone were to take his information seriously/authoritatively they could falsely diagnose and try to take remedial action on something that is not scientifically identified. Also there is no disclaimer presented at the beginning/end of this program as to allow him to present such information without possible consequences. (I think we have a different venue for this type of program.) 2. The guest shares some statistical data without contextualizing it. He doesn’t identify where the surveys were taken and doesn’t give specific demographical information where as to present a more balanced or realistic picture. It could lead some to come to unrealistic conclusions and act upon these resulting in unsafe practices.
